Seventeen twenty-four hours BST

Andrei was walking towards the railway station when he heard a siren alarm sounding from the railway station, followed by a voice over a speaker system.

“Please evacuate the railway station immediately, repeat please evacuate the railway station immediately!”

People began emerging from the railway station out onto the road and the car park, Andrei also picked up the sound of sirens approaching.

His plan had been to find the nearest town with a railway station and then board a train back to London; this was not what he wanted.

He turned around and looked at the post van and as he contemplated his options, his thoughts were abruptly broken as his years in the military training picked up the sound of a helicopter, and he discerned it as a single rotor and moving extremely fast, only one helicopter with that type of rotor cadence; a military Lynx!

He looked to his west and picked up the small image of the helicopter growing larger; Andrei quickly sprinted to the van opened the rear door and looked in the postman was still unconscious.

He then climbed back into the driver’s seat and fired the engine up, he swung the van around one hundred and eighty degrees back to the junction and turned right heading south, south east.

Strayker and Vince had been watching Andrei on the images relayed to the plasma screen; Vince spoke, “why did he look in the back of the van?”

Strayker replied, “Checking on his hostage; the postman I would bet, what’s the road he is travelling on?”

“Tilford road,” replied GAIL.

“Open up the Comms with team 8 GAIL?”

“Comms open sir,” replied GAIL.

“Team 8 from eagle 2 receiving over?”

“Dave Schofield replied, “Eagle 8 receiving you five by five over.”

“Your target is in the Royal Mail van heading out of the town on Tilford road; he may have a hostage in the back of the van, the Postman; GAIL will direct you, over.”

GAIL switched her radio Comms channel and addressed the co-pilot of the Lynx, “ICIS to Solex 4, your target vehicle is a red Royal Mail van, bearing south, south east along Tilford road, alter current course to one hundred and sixty-nine degrees SSE. You should have a visual on target vehicle in twenty seconds, over.”

The co-pilot replied, “Roger that ICIS altering course to one hundred and sixty-nine degrees SSE, will confirm with you when we have visual.”

“Solex 4, I have altered our radio frequency to match yours.”

“Copy that ICIS; we now have a visual on the target vehicle, over.”

Dave Schofield was looking at a map and spoke to the co-pilot, “Stay behind him and follow him out of the town, try to keep on his blind side?”

The pilot banked the Lynx over so that he was now on the left hand side of the van.

Andrei had been trying to observe behind for any signs of the Helicopter, he had dropped the driver’s door window down and reached out to angle the door mirror upwards, but could not see the helicopter.
